Love Eternal tells the story of Ian, a young man whose life is dominated by death. Ian’s first introduction to death comes at the age of six, when he loses his father. It isn’t long before a second bereavement. Afraid of life and in the thrall of death, Ian begins to distance himself from the world.

When his mother unexpectedly dies, Ian’s life takes a profound turn. He has been thrown completely upon his own resources. Thanks to ‘The Book Of Life’, left to him by his mother, Ian comes to recognize that caring for other people can give his life meaning. When he meets Naomi, a depressed woman, and manages to make her abandon her suicide plans, an intimate friendship develops – a friendship that saves him as well. Gradually Ian learns to fall in love again with life and the living. The future lies before him.
